www.hibiscusrestaurant.co.uk/Hibiscus Posted by Emma on 21/5/2008 Gf board I ate at Hibiscus restaurant on Maddox St, London W1 last week. They had been warned in advance I had coeliac disease and catered extremely well for me. I was given toasted (nice!) gluten free bread at the start of the meal and given advice on which dishes I could eat. They were clued up on cross contamination issues which was reassuring (they were concerned the corn flour in the desserts may have been contaminated so advised against these). It is quite pricey (I was there on a business lunch!) but the food was amazing so well worth it for a special occasion.

Posted by Lucy - N London on GF board This site has inspired me to investigate gluten-free options when I go out now. So I was on a hen night last night at Strada New Burlington street www.strada.co.uk/. 15-16 New Burlington Street, London, W1X 1FF Tel: 020 7287 5967 Although I am not a coeliac myself (my 5 year old daughter is) I enquired with the chef as we were leaving and he knew quite a bit about gluten-free and x-contamination. He told me he was happy to prepare a pizza/pasta dish if a pizza base/pasta provided. I notice they have wood-fired ovens though so I am not sure whether the cooking medium is suitable. They said to give 24 hours notice and preferably not a friday/saturday as these are very busy catering times.
