Brazilian Cheese Buns Finchley London

GF board
A few months ago recipes were published... (on GF board) for Brazilian Cheese Buns (BCB's)made with Tapioca flour. I made several batches of these but never got them quite right, they were a bit heavy and one batch tasted too strongly of baking powder. Today by chance I was taken to a Brazilian Cafe on Regents Park Road, Finchley. A rather sweet, attractive small cafe. The first thing I saw on the counter was a pile of BCB's. The cook was a very jolly Brazilian lady. The menu was small but there were plenty of things that were gluten free and also vegetarian dishes. There was at least one gluten free cake (polenta), and gluten free chocolate truffles. They also sold a variety of interesting flours and drinks (eg cashew fruit). I bought a couple of the BCB's and they were brilliant, very light and tasty. Worth a trip if anyone is in the area.
... Its a small cafe with little checked tablecloths so not a lot of room for boisterous kids to run about or make a mess. However owners are very friendly and helpful so would be fine for kids who were reasonable behaved
