Nairn’s Flapjacks
Enjoy this indulgent gluten-free flapjacks any time of the day as a snack, or after a meal as a delicious dessert.
Serves 12 Prep 5 minutes Cook for Cook in the oven at 180C, 350F, Gas mark 4 for 15 to 20 minutes
Ingredients: 110g (4oz) Butter 75g (3oz) Light soft brown sugar 75g (3ozs) Golden syrup 225g (8oz) Nairn’s Gluten Free Oat Flakes
Method: Melt the butter, sugar and syrup in a pan over a low heat, stirring continuously until the sugar has dissolved. Alternatively melt in a deep bowl in the microwave on full power for 1 minute and then on bursts of 30 seconds until it dissolves, stirring each time. Add the oats and stir well to coat. Press into a greased and lined tin 19cm (7.5inches) square. Bake in the middle of a pre-heated oven for 15 to 20 minutes till golden. Cool in the tin, cutting into 12 squares while still warm (dipping the knife in warm water at each cut stops it sticking and tearing the oats) Store in an airtight container in a cool place
