Derbyshire/Peak District Posted by Andy (Herts) on 3/8/2006 The Original Farmers Market Shop in Bakewell. (3, Market Street, Bakewell, DE45 1HG - 01629 815814). I think it was Mairi who mentioned this recently - it's a small shop opposite the Co-Op. There was a well-stocked freezer with GF pies & pizzas. I bought a 'Carolyn's Meat & Potato pie' and had it for dinner that evening - very good. They also sold Greens GF beers and a large range of GF biscuits. I bought some great 'Coconut Toasties' and 'Choc Chip & Orange biscuits' from the Farmhouse Recipes range (website link at the bottom - 80% of their products are GF) and some lovely 'Dark Choc & Cherry cookies' made by Just Biscuits (www.just-biscuits.co.uk - Castleton, Hope Valley, S33 8WN - 01433 621319). I wanted to buy a GF Bakewell Pudding but couldn't see them. When I asked the man apologised profusely and said that their cook was making them right now along with the GF Pork Pies and asked me to pop back in a couple of hours. Unfortunately, we weren't staying in Bakewell for that long, but it was good to know. Their website is www.thefarmersmarketshop.co.uk but the site appears to be down at the moment. www.farmhouseproducts.co.uk/home.php

From Katie:
Found a lovely little cafe in Bakewell, Derbyshire. They had a selection of Gluten Free cakes to choose from, my choice was Sticky Cherry cake (with cream of course!) All I can say is amazing! The name was Doddarelli's and it was above a shop called Sinclairs in the centre of Bakewell. Highly Recommended

Bakewell GF places

GF Board
Riccis Italian in the town centre does 3 GF pastas, 4 sauces and amazing GF garlic bread. Smyllies grocers shop has a freezer full of GF pies and shelves of cakes and biscuits. Byways, Vine cafe/Because I like It and Lime House Coffee Lounge have GF menus but I didn't eat in any of those venues, although they all looked lovely. Rajas Indian is fully GF aware and our dinner was lovely. The Rutland Arms Hotel is GF aware too and I had a good veg strognaoff. Piedaniels menu is marked but they were on holiday so we couldn't try there which was a shame. It was hard to find any nice places in the evening if you didn't want to do pub food.

Re: Bakewell Posted by GFT on 31/10/2016 GF board
We visited Bakewell this summer and had lunch at Because I Like It in Diamond Court off Water Street. It was a lovely, sunny day and sitting outside under the vines was just great. Lots of gluten free options. ...
