Just back for a visit to family in Derbyshire and they found a couple of good places for me to eat. In Asbourne the St John Street Gallery and cafe, DE6 1GH tel 01335 347 425 was a delight - just a coffee shop snack type place but with 3 homemade gf cakes (we tried 2 - yummy) and apparently they have gf options for light lunches.
In Derby for a smart meal Masa, The Old Chapel, Brook St, DE1 3PF tel 01332 203 345 was excellent, well informed, gf bread offered with the starter and our waitress's 102 year old grandad had just been diagnosed so she was interested to learn more. Pricey but some good deals and a lovely setting for a treat.
It's so nice when people do the research for you and you can enjoy feeling normal - even after 14 years of being coeliac.It is getting easier to eat out well.
