I just chuck in whatever is to hand and whizz it up! But I suppose the basic standard (to make 2 big ones) is:
1 Banana
1/2 punnet each strawberries and raspberries
Sometimes a fistful of blueberries
1 glass orange juice
some ice cubes (using these needs quite a robust blender though)
Vary quantities according to taste! There are constant "arguments" about the amount of ice that's best in my house!
If there's a yoghurt near its BB date then that goes in too......

What ever fruit is at its ripest (tastes better)in the bowl kiwis, bananas, plums, etc, cover with fruit juice (we use pressed not concentrate) then add a handful of frozen fruit if using (frozen berries work well) and wizz it up. If you use canned fruits add less fruit juice

If you don't have any fresh fruit available, use frozen berries and summer fruits. That way it's already got the ice in it.
I always have a bag of frozen berries, they get used for crumbles, stewed for breakfast (with a slice of breakfast bar, as filling for meringues and for smoothies

I have one almost every morning for breakfast.
I use between 10 and 12 strawberries or two whole bananas. I slice them up and bung them in with two large or three small scoops of Swedish Glace Vanilla Ice Cream (Lactose, Gluten and Cholesterol Free - available from most supermarkets and Holland & Barratt) and then put in about half a pint of Provamel Rice Milk (the one fortified with Calcium).
Makes a really nice and quite healthy start to the day!
