Wagamama Japanese noodle restaurant From celiac.com messageboard: celiac.master.com/texis/master/s ... 3e301bdc11 kma0818 2003-01-23 11:44 Recently spent time in London. Wagamama Japanese noodle restaurant (several locations around the city) has gluten free menu items. Food is delicious and cheap. Their website has a food allergy table for reference. Here is the link: www.wagamama.com/eating/ ****************************************************** More on Wagamama Posted by Tammy on GF board, 21/8/2003. I had a response back from Wagamama restaurants after I emailed them my comments with regards to their allergy table being a little incorrect and if they would think about doing Rice Noodles as an alternative option to their all wheat noodles. They seem to take customers' comments very seriously and I got very good prompt responses to mine. They were very apologetic and they have removed the allergy table because it is wrong, I've asked them to replace it once it has been amended because it is very useful. They have also said they are looking to do a rice noodle dish in autumn that we can enjoy too They were very grateful that I had made them aware of my experiences in their restaurant and about updating their info on the website, they seem to like customer feedback whether good or bad. ************************************************************** Wagamama Posted by Tammy on Gf board Latest info if you don't already know. Just checked their website and they have now posted a new up to date (& amended as I instructed them) special dietary list of what coeliacs can eat at their restaurants, it also includes other dietary requirements too like dairy, nut etc. If you are thinking of visiting them, its worth taking this list with you, helps the staff out loads to help you better. For anyone who is interested, I went to the Wagamama in the City on Old Broad Street, London last night. Have to admit I was very impressed!! The service was quick and excellent! I took with me the special dietary list and the staff in the kitchen recently got trained in gluten free foods and cooking. So one came out and had a chat to me, we decided on a dish I was allowed, but because some things I couldn't have in the dish, he got the chef to add more of what I could have to make my dinner tastier and it really was. I was so chuffed ************** Also see page 3 of London re Wagamama

I can recommend Wagamama for excellent (vegetarian) GF meal.
We went there early one evening (without booking, just came across this Japanese restaurant) & I explained I was a vegetarian coeliac , asked if I could have meal there. Ate one of their vegetarian dishes which had various stir-fry type vegetables including pak choi & also tofu with rice noodles & delicious soup-like sauce tasting of creamed coconut.
The non-veggie non-coeliac had a rice & chicken dish which probably was GF- or could be made so as everything is prepared fresh ( kitchen is in full view & they seemed very busy all the time cooking ). The restaurant in Covent Garden is downstairs in a canteen-like place with mostly refectory type tables & so can cater for groups. Non-smoking throughout . Sadly, the 2 puddings which I could have eaten were all gone but we were very full from main course & snow peas (sort of starter/side dish ) anyway.
