Hazels mince meat recipe.
Ingredients grated apple (Egremont Russet because we love the flavour) 2 oz melted vegetarian margarine / butter 9 oz sultanas l l/2 oz ground almonds 3 oz chopped cherries l/2 teaspoon mixed spice l oz dark brown sugar.
I just mixed everything well except the butter then added the butter, spooned it into the cases, added the sponge topping (see post below) and bingo!

Hazels mince pies with sponge tops.

6 oz gf flour 4oz (vegetarian) margarine 4 oz sugar 2 large eggs
I just mixed this all together. Then added I think it was a quarter teaspoon of mixed spice. As you'd expect the pies took about 20 minutes at 190C. They are lovely! This was put on top of mincemeat on a pastry base but you could use it as an easy topping (like apple charlotte)if you don't want to make pastry
