You could check the La Tasca (tapas restaurant) & Nandos (Portuguese restaurant) websites for locations; they do g/f food. They both have branches in Norwich if that's any help, www.nandos.co.uk www.latasca.co.uk From GF board Posted by Ali

From Yahoo UKCoeliac board
..can't recommend Nando's highly enough - I went there after a recommendation from someone on the group here - they have a book with everything they use in the restaurant - each item has a page of it's own - even down to individual spice they use - all with a 'gluten: yes/no' box. Easy eating out...

from Paul on Gf board Attached is a reply I got from Nando's customer services: Hi Thanks for your email. Please note that only the products that contain bread roll or pita, our Caesar salad and some of our desserts are not gluten free. Each restaurant has a Food and Menu Specification book which contains all the ingredients for all our products. Please feel free to request it next time you visit any of our restaurants. Been to Nandos a couple of times and had the grilled chicken and my daughter has shown no ill effects ( she is the coeliac). I am sure that all the marinades are GF and they taste delicious. I don't think that they cook anything else on the grills so I don't think there is much risk of contamination.

We went there on Saturday night. You can eat pretty much everything, except for the obvious things like bread etc. They have a book that lists all ingredients...it's VERY good!
All chicken and sauces, chips are GF, ice cream too.
You have to like chicken though!

I know people have posted on here before about Nandos but we had our first (and not last!) visit to Nandos in Exeter yesterday. Firstly, Coeliac aside, what a lovely friendly place!
Secondly and most importantly, can't believe how many GF options there were on the menu. My son was able (for the first time ever, I think!)to eat from a children's menu including a main course & dessert. My husband & daughter also thoroughly enjoyed their chicken AND CHIPS! Can't remember the last time they had chips out (apart from Mcd's!)
Very impressed - will definitely go again!

I have eaten at Nandos on three occasions; the Brighton branch had an allergy listing behind the bar when I asked. The Dudley, Birmingham branch did not have a listing, but had a very knowledgable manageress who advised me on what was gluten free (& dairy free). I didn't need to ask when I went to the Soho London branch last week as I knew what I wanted, but one thing I would advise (this didn't happen at the other two branches) ask for the g/f meal to be on it's own plate, as our meal last week in Soho was delivered on a large platter with only a mound of fries separating the different orders; my children had stuffed pitta bread & burgers, while I and my husband had just spicy chicken. Chicken, fries, coleslaw & corn on the cob is g/f. I don't think the spicy rice is g/f. All the peri peri sauces they use are g/f. I think your daughter will enjoy it; it is reasonably priced, good food.

Before I went to Canterbury I checked with people on here about eating GF there. Nandos was suggested as, apparantly, they are supposed to have an allergy listing behind the counter if you ask for it. Good luck.

We eat Nandos chicken, chips and their green salads and they are lovely. I have never had a problem with any of their food.

... ate here on Saturday evening before going to the cinema. I was so impressed that we will go regularly now (to Nando's as well as the cinema!).
There is a book held behind the bar that you ask to borrow, and in it you can find out the ingredients, source, etc of everything on the menu. It gives info on veggie, GF, and every other "special" requirement you can think of.
The chicken was absolutely delicious, the staff friendly and accommodating, and the atmosphere humming!
