Meal out in Maidstone
At last I have had a decent meal out - there were several choices on the menu for starter and main courses. The chef came to talk to me and explain which dishes were ok for me to eat. Also good for us was it is a total no smoking pub with character and atmosphere - The Cock Horse Inn at Detling.

Great news, Next to Maidstone Hospital is a "Deep Blue" Fish & Chip shop which offers gluten free fish & chips on Sundays/Mondays.

Fortify Cafe,Maidstone

I went into this cafe yesterday and had a slice of delicious gluten free orange polenta cake. They had several gf cake options and also hot foods, salads labelled gf on the menu. A good place to stop if you find yourself in Maidstone.

Its only a small little place but has a cosy and nice ambience about it. Not like a big commercial Starbucks for example.
