Helmsley, North Yorkshire (just outside the North York Moors National Park) Posted by Audrey on 4/5/2017, 19:06:53 I have always enjoyed visiting Helmsley but in the past I always took a picnic with me because I could never find anything other than one type of GF cake in any of the cafes in town. All that has now changed! I had lunch on Sunday at Crema Coffee House, 2-3 Borogate, Helmsley, York. YO62 5BN Tel: 01439 770906 www.cremacoffeehouse.co.uk The menu contains a wide variety of sandwiches, rarebits, filled jacket potatoes, two kinds of gluten free soup and a choice of cakes. I had the winter vegetable soup and a ham sandwich – good ham and lots of it in tasty bread. My husband had a (non-GF) BLT sandwich and said it was the best sandwich he had ever had in his life, and my son (also non-GF) had a rarebit which he greatly enjoyed. Both were served with a side salad. The cakes (especially the cherry and almond cake) looked wonderful, but I resisted as I am on a diet and, anyway, I was full. It is clear that the staff at Crema Coffee House really care about their coeliac customers. Good pot of tea; clean toilets – Highly recommended.

Yes Scotts have CUK accreditation and last time we went they also did GF desserts. You can see the GF menu online. The deli in the square also has a small gf section if you can bear to walk past all the lovely things we can't have!
