Meals on the Isle of Wight Posted by Geraldine on 9/4/2017 GF board
We have just returned home from a brief visit to the Isle of Wight.
We ate at Medina Quays Table Table, the first night, as we were booked in at the Premier Inn. All fine, breakfasts were also taken there, gluten free toast made for my coeliac husband in separate toaster on request.
Had lunch at Fighting Cocks, Arreton, which was good, they have a selection of GF options on their menu.
Our last full day there we ate at the Two Bishops, Brightstone, again lots of GF options, and big sign outside saying they cater for GF and other dietary requirements. Food presented beautifully, but next morning my husband had tummy problems, so we're wondering if there was some contamination there. He had said when he ordered his food that he needed it to be Gluten Free.
*********** .....We also saw some GF at Monkey Haven, near Newport, nothing terribly exciting but at least they had options.
There were a couple of cakes, and plates of salad with slices of bread, wrapped in cling film, and labelled Gluten Free.
We didn't have anything to eat there, as at that time of day we weren't hungry, just had a pot of tea.
