The 4 Lincolnshire CCGs have announced the results of their over the counter medications consultation which included gluten free prescriptions. There was good representation from Coeliacs in the consultation and the CCG governing bodies decided not to stop gluten free prescribing completely which was one of the proposals on the table but to restrict to bread, flour and bread mix within Coeliac UK guidelines. Coeliacs I met at consultation events were all sympathetic of the need of the NHS to make savings but made a strong argument for maintaining bread and bread mixes as a minimum. Well done to all those that participated.
