Hi everyone I'm new here and just wanted to introduce myself. My name is Liz Allan and I run www.allergyawarekitchen.co.uk training the UK Food Service companies to become Food Allergy Aware in the run up to and following the introduction of the new food allergen laws which are being introduced in the UK in December 2014. Me and my son (who is 8) are gluten and wheat intolerant (although we have the Coeliac gene and have never had a positive blood test!). I used to run a FreeFrom cake company called The Cake Crusader but realised that I missed training and consultancy which is what I did before I had my son. I'm really hoping that I can teach food service companies (restaurants, pubs, cafes, delis, catering company - even schools and old people's homes etc) to understand how to prevent cross contamination, the issues we have when we have reactions and how to make nutritiously fantastic tasting meals for us! I want my son growing up to feel "included" rather than "excluded". I'm based in Reading in Berkshire and currently fighting my son's primary school catering company in order for them to supply him consistently decent schools meals - rather than the 4 out of 5 days worth of jacket potato he's currently getting! - what a cop out! Anyway, I look forward to reading your posts on here. Thanks and have a good week Liz Alllan
