GF and veggie in Germany and Strasbourg

It's not easy! All their traditional dishes are meat based, so I struggled a bit but can make the following tentative recommendations as a non sensitive coeliac. Ibis (Aachen), Park Inn (Heppenheim) and Mercure (Strasbourg) had buffet breakfasts so you can help yourself. I took GF bread for toast and had eggs/cheese/fruit/yogurt. For packed lunch, took GF rolls from UK (with cheese and yogurts "borrowed"! from breakfast) as well as other long life bits brought from UK e.g. Mrs Crimbles apple rice cakes dipped in honey are delicious!! In Heppenheim, went to Mamma Maria Italian at Markstrasse 3 and had salad and omlette. The Goldener Engel at Grosser Markt 2 in Heppenheim did me a lovely salad with cheese and eggs. In Strasbourg, there was a quinoa restaurant at 33 rue du Jeu des Enfants but was closed for the French August holiday season. I also had GF crepes and chocolate pud (yum!) at Bistro et Chocolat, 8 Rue de la Rape in Strasbourg (to the side of the cathedral) and in Heidelburg I found a very small place doing GF quiche and cheesecake at Heiliggeiststrasse 5, again close to the cathedral square.
Hope this long garbled message helps somebody! Trying to find GF places on line was impossible!

I went and stayed with my friend who lives in the Bavarian Alps and she got me some supplies of bread and staple things from a gluten free shop, we cooked our own food in her home. I stayed in a hotel in Saltzburg and ate alright, although Germans and Austrians eat a lot of things with dumplings in. I found places could cook things to suit my diet. I looked on-line for the restaurants, supermarkets, that catered for me before I went.
