Waresley Park Garden Centre Posted by Geraldine on 2/3/2013, 19:33:53 We visited this garden centre today, on Beds/Cambs border. First time we'd been there, and were thrilled to find that they had gluten free goodies in their cafe. The cakes were sliced up on to individual plates, then covered in cling film so no cross contamination issue to worry about. My husband enjoyed eating a piece of "Paradise" GF tray bake, £1.89, which was the same price as the gluten containing blueberry muffin that I chose. There was also GF Victoria Sponge, nice that he had a choice, lady who served us said that they also do a GF Lemon Drizzle cake. www.waresley.co.uk/cafe.html I think they also do GF main course meals, so an option for people wanting lunch. In the main area of the garden centre, they had some GF food for sale, including my husband's current favourite, Eskal wafer biscuits so packets of those were purchased.

GF Fish and Chips in Luton
Posted by Geraldine on 26/1/2015
We recently found out that our local chip shop, has started as of January 2015 doing GF fish and chips on Mondays. It's in Wigmore Lane, near Asda.
We went there for lunch today, both had senior citizen size portions. My husband had GF, I had glutenous batter on my fish. Service excellent, and we both enjoyed our lunch. Cost was £7.99 each, that included a cup of tea. They had vinegar marked GF, which the waitress brought out without being asked.
Premises nice and clean, will definitely go again, though might next time have our fish and chips wrapped to bring home.
Have really missed being able to go to this chippy in the 5 years since husband's diagnosis. Did say to the girl who served us, that it would be even better if they did GF every day.
