Well I spent 10 days here and was spoilt rotten!!
Had a BA flight out of Gatwick to Salzburg, no food for me on the plane but I had packed snacks to eat!
Transfer was just over an 1hr away, and as we arrived at our hotel the rep said we had booked a great hotel and the food was lovely. When we checked in the receptionist confirmed that there was a coeliac in the party, I had emailed them 2 weeks beforehand to check they could cater for me and was told that this fine. The hotel offered a packed lunch each day, mine was 2 gluten free sandwiches, an apple and a drink and I added some GF Cereal bars.
Breakfast I was offered GF Bread, there was yogurt, fruits, ham, cheeses, omelette station, boiled eggs, scarmbled eggs, bacon and the chef the first morning and a waitor was very quick to point out what I could and couldn't eat!! I had to ask for the GF Bread the first morning but after that it was at my table every morning.
Dinner was a starter which they made GF for me, then soup which I didn't have as I don't eat that much but they would have done a GF Soup, a choice of 5 main courses and I just picked what I wanted and they adapted it, there was a salad buffet each night and a dessert buffet each night with tinhgs like fruit, GF Ice cream, mousses, cheese, pannacotte, little chocolates, chocolate fountain with fruits.
As we had a packed lunch we didn't eat out very often for lunch but the odd day that we did, I just showed them a translation card and on both occasions I had the same thing which was a huge baked potato, with sour cream, bacon and cheese minus the bread croutons!
Of course we did alot of walking to burn off all those calories and I am please to say I came back only weighing half a pound heavier!!
We can't wait to go back again
The ice cream sundaes were very nice and on one occasion I had some stewed Apricots with vanilla ice cream whilst my friend had cake!!
