GF board
Went there with a group of friends, 2 of us are coeliacs. Paid in advance and chose starter and main that needed no adaptation and we got - guess - fruit salad as a desert... None of the yummy things they could have given us from their regular menu like Creme Brulee etc. Then everyone else got mince pies and we got - guess - nothing!!!
That's not the best bit..
When I wrote to say how disappointed I was that they made absolutely no effort whatsoever I got a very offensive note back which ended up saying that they assumed that I wouldn't be going there for any reason at any time in the future - charming eh! It also said that they hoped I would get what I deserve at Christmas and they paid over £5 to make sure that I got it in time - really upsetting.
They didn't answer any of the points that I made only seemed to have got extremely cross that I had the temerity to complain about their establishment.
Can't believe the complete lack of customer focus in their letter - my career was in customer service and I would at least have said something along the lines of that 'we are disappointed that you felt that we hadn't made any effort, this isn't the kind of impression that we want our customers to leave with, and isn't how most feel. I hope that you will visit us again at some point in the future and give us the opportunity to improve your view of us'. Not difficult to be polite without accepting any wrong is it...
They did give me a refund, which I didn't want, and as it was given in such poor grace achieved nothing anyway.
Anyway, I wouldn't go there again and I certainly would counsel against any special occasions there...
