In early October we had a short break around the County. My girl friend is allergic to wheat and this site has been great for advice and ideas. As she is also vegetarian eating out can be challenging to say the least. So over the course of our time off we came across the following. The Pavilion www.pavilioncantonese.co.uk/index.php is one of my favourite restaurants. After explaining what we would need they were so helpful. Explained everything she could have, and that they had GF soy sauce for the dishes. Over the holiday we stayed at the www.hardwickhallhotel.co.uk/Breakfast was cooked to order so this wasn't a problem. On the first night we ate at the Rib Room Steakhouse and Grill. There wasn't anything obvious on the menu, but after a chat with the very helpful staff the chef created a warm roast veg salad, which really was good! This wasn't on the menu but they seemed happy to help. The second night we went to the Dun Cow Inn in Sedgefiled village. We had spoken with the staff prior to our visit. Again the chef arranged to something which wasn't on the menu. The food, venue and staff were all excellent but i would definitely recommend advising them when when booking.
