Just to let anyone who's thinking of going know that Hannah had a good experience at Planet Hollywood in London. She told the person on "seating duties" and he told her to tell her waitress. The waitress seemed very well informed to the point where Hannah thought she might have been GF herself. I think she had the Salad Nicoise.
I also e-mailed them via the website and got a reply almost immediately including a link to their menu.....

A new cafe has opened in Pimlico - just 300 metres or so from Victoria Station on Wilton Road. They usually have 3 gluten free, wheat free choices of cake - double choc muffin, choc and almond brownie and orange and cranberry muffin. I had the double chocolate muffin today and it was absolutely delicious. They also serve monmouth coffee, which is the best coffee we have ever tasted in the UK. So if you are looking for a coffee and a cake in London this place is lovely. Here is a link www.yelp.co.uk/biz/pimlico-fresh-london
Their soups do not have flour in them and there are salads that are gluten free....(They also do vegan and organic food).

I met some friends for lunch in Knightsbridge yesterday and can highly recommend the Boxwood Cafe at the Berkeley Hotel, Wilton Place, Knightsbridge London SW1X 7RL Tel 02072351010.
I just thought that it may be handy for anyone Christmas Shopping in the area. It is a 5-10 minute walk from Harrods and is close to Hyde Park Corner Tube station.
They do a 3 course set lunch menu for £21 and you will be told if there is anything on that menu you cannot have. They also have a very extensive full menu which will make your mouth water.
Enjoy! MAC

Last weekend my 8 year old coeliac daughter had 2 great eating out experiences ...(one was)
..On Friday she was taken to see Peter Pan on Ice at the Crystal Palace sports arena. I did some investigation first and there was a pizza express across the road. A quick call to the restaurant by me totally reassured me that they were on the case. So she went along armed with a GF pizza base and was delighted to have it served hot in a restuarant. Apparently the staff were falling over themselves to be helpful and on a Friday evening too!

The Medieval Banquet, London
Posted by Andy (Herts) on 18/12/2006
GF board
I went to my wife's work Christmas party on Saturday night held at The Medieval Banquet in London (St. Katharine's Dock, near to Tower Bridge). My GF dietary requirements were made known at the time of booking a few months ago, and the message which came back via my wife's colleague who was organising the event was that GF would be no problem. Past experience has led me to have low expectations, especially on large, mass catering events at this time of year.
Well what I surprise I had ! The salmon salad for starters was GF anyway, and then the pumpkin & apple soup (again GF) arrived, followed by some rather large chunks of "normal" bread. Before I had time to think "Oh well, I'll go without", some gluten free bread arrived for me. Not just a little bit mind you, it was a whole Antoinette Savill loaf !
So to the main course, the roast chicken in brandy and orange sauce - a separate half a roast chicken without the sauce arrived just before the others got their main courses. There didn't appear to be an alternative to the yuletide tart for pudding but to be honest I'd eaten and drunk so much by then I wasn't too bothered about that.
Just goes to show that some places can adapt their usual menu to make GF meals easily, without too much effort. It was all the more pleasing because it was done on a busy night with 500 people there. Not only that but the food was good quality and it's good night out too. So well done to them.

On Wednesday i had to go to London around dinner time as i was seeing Dirty Dancing. I was dreading this as i didn't have the time to go to a resturant but needed a quick bite to eat. After remenbering seeing a Pontis there i phoned and asked if they would be open and if they would be able to do a Plain Jacket.
The manager was extremly helpful and explained yes they could.
I brought my own beans as i am never sure of the cross contamination issue and they heated them up no problem and the manager was so extremly helpful! He even came over twice to check they were hot enough!
I was so impressed and thought i would have to tell you all about it and recommed Pontis for help and assitance.

Reporting back from Fulham GF experience

As promised, reporting back from Fulham, London.
I braved 4 nights in a Travelodge so that I could "do" London with my 11 year old. I had absolutely no idea of GF provision (for me) so went on a whim with a bag load of optimism. Not disappointed: M&S Simply Food within 4 minutes' walk provided lots of different Ready to Eat salads, I teamed these with some McDonald's french fries to give carbohydrate - well it seemed a waste not to as McD's is 3 doors down from T'lodge, La Tasca (4 mins walk) had clearly marked GF dishes of which I sampled 4 with no ill effects at all (and I'm very sensitive, can't do Codex etc.), also Sainsbury's at Fulham Broadway tube (8 mins from T'lodge) had a good Free From section. So, anyone wanting cheap London accommodation and prepared to eat on the hoof - I recommend. La Tasca was our final splashing out of the week and so that I could sit at a table and have a hot meal!! Also, directly opposite T'lodge were several grocery stalls selling lovely fruit. I couldn't have wished for better under the circumstances. Long time since I've done backpacking, but would definitely go to that Travelodge again for cheap, basic and very clean accommodation.
Incidentally there's no bar/restaurant at the T'lodge. They do breakfast bags but NOT GF and anyway my son preferred a pain au chocolat from the bakery opposite the T'lodge. Everyone happy

The food was delicious - one of my party was particularly impressed with chocolate cake - and it was great value for money. Highly recommended.
