Excellent, Lynne.
You could also point out just because GF stuff is in Tesco today there is no guarantee it will be available forever (they are a business, not a charity & they will , quite rightly, drop any item which does not show a profit for them ).
Also what about choice of items, I bet Liz Coleman wouldn't like it if she prefers Hovis but was told she could only have Mother's Pride (or vice versa), why should coeliacs/DHers be treated as pets or farm animals, where those in charge of providing food choose the food?
re nut allergy people and diabetics, she is just muddying the water, you cannot compare those patients with coeliacs.
GFD is our medical treatment, coeliacs are unique in that they have the only condition where the health problem is treated by diet alone and where prescription food is a vital part of supporting coeliacs/DHers to stay GF & avoid serious medical conditions which would be much more expensive to treat than the provision of GF scrips.
By providing the recognised quantities of GF items on prescription SE coast would actually be saving money which would have to be spent on coeliacs with cancer, osteoporosis etc which happen if they don't stick to strict life-long GFD.
