Rather than heading down to your local chippie, try some homemade chips....
450g-500g (1lb-1lb 2oz) potatoes, preferably each about 200g (7oz) 2 tbsp-3 tbsp sunflower or corn oil
Scrub the potatoes and cut them into thick chunky chips. Coat in the oil. Spread onto a baking sheet and bake for 45 minutes at 200°C/400°F/Gas 6, turning at least once. For a variation, sprinkle one or two teaspoons of either chilli or curry powder over the chips before coating in the oil. And if you prefer, peel the potatoes before cooking.

I make flavoured wedges, put a little GF flour in a plastic bag add spices or herbs and lemon zest and shake, add potato wedges shake to coat and then cook on a hot oven tray.
