GF board
Had a holiday in Dubrovnik about 3 years ago …
…we did find some nice little restuarants around the town where I could find safe things to eat (eg grilled trout. ..
Orhan restaurant has a lovely terrace overlooking a picturesque little cove. Its just outside the city walls, out of the Pile gate and down to the waterfront. Address - Od Tabakarije 1.

Croatia Translation (kindly supplied by Gloria Irena).
**************************************************

I have a medical condition called Coeliac (Celiac) Disease.
This means I am intolerant to gluten and cannot eat anything containing, or contaminated with, gluten because it will make me ill.
Gluten is in wheat, spelt, oats, barley and rye and all items derived from these grains.
Please do not use wheat flour and bread crumbs in my meal.
Are there any dishes on your menu without these gluten ingredients?
Alternatively, could you possibly prepare a meal without these cereals?
I can safely eat rice, maize (corn), millet, buckwheat or potatoes and all their flours.
Thank you

Croatia (GF pizza)
....here are the 2 location in Croatia where you can eat gf pizza (you should call a day earlier to announce yourself): The first one is in Istria (just off the Slovenian and Italian border: PIZZERIA RONDO, Trg Josip Broz Tito 4, 52460 Buje +385(0)52 772 898
The second is in the capital Zagreb (in the very center of town; you should insist on talking to the owner since he prepares the dough himself): NAPOLITANA, Preradoviceva 34, 10000 Zagreb +385(0) 4856 105
Both are not very exclusive places but the pizza is great. There are some other restaurants I could recommend (especially in Zagreb) because of the very understanding and good staff, but you can not know if you'll have the same luck/waiter I had.
Kind regards, Gloria/Irena.

GF board
.... We went to Dubrovnik at Easter last year. Most of the resturants in the old town will at least understand and I had no problems. Whilst the Croatian GF language card are a real tongue twister it is worth taking one. I'm struggling to remember resturant names but for what its worth, The pharmacy at the bus stop above the steps into the old town had a good selection of GF as did the local supermarket. Re resturants, at the bottom of the same steps and immediate Right -a resturant built into the cloister of an old nunnery, . At the harbour end of the old town one of the waterfront resturants was good especially for lunch. I had a chicken in cream sauce dish that arrived without the "Glutinous" (sticky) rice... better to be over cautious and did raise a laugh. .....
