Marmaris Turkey
Posted by nikki on 4/9/2007 GF board
Back from our trip to Turkey with 2 coeliacs this time!(self catering) We took a restaurant card in Turkish explaining what cd was and we found all staff to be very helpful and accomodating.
Hubby and son stuck to fairly plain foods (no sauces) fish/salad, steak/potato, shish kebabs/rice and had no problems.
At every meal a huge homemade flat bread (pitta) is served - and as hubby & son couldn't have this we brought some gf pitta's from home & they were more than happy to heat them up in the microwave.
We were able to get plenty of snacks for coeliac son in the small supermarkets (plain crisps , Magnum lollies, haribo,...and fresh fruit of course!) All in all a great holiday and no upset tums for the coeliacs!
