GF board
We went to Bitez (about 3 miles from Gumbet) in May and ate our evening meal out every day for 2 weeks and several lunches out too. We took one of the translation cards in Turkish and found the Turks to be VERY obliging - nothing was too much trouble and there was no problem at all finding plenty of food to eat. Even when we went on 3 boat trips, they were quite happy to cater for the GF diet - it was so much easier eating there than anywhere we have ever eaten in the UK! so much so, we have booked to go back next year.
I would thoroughly recommend the Sirca Restaurant in Bitez - we stayed in their apartments; they are about 10 minutes walk from the seafront however they are situated just down the road from the Dolmus (public local minbus) stop that come from Gumbet.
They were more than happy to warm up GF bread rolls/naan bread/pitta bread etc and did this in clean foil. Several evenings, they made us GF casserole and always gave us a huge platter of fruit or suitable ice cream for dessert.
We also ate out very successfully at the New Season Restaurant, Istanbul Restaurant, Golden Spoon Restaurant and the Sultan, all on the front at Bitez.
We took a supply of GF bread, bought cakes & biscuits and you could easily buy fresh fruit, yogurts, cheese, eggs etc for breakfasts.
Have a superb time and if you get chance, have a Turkish Bath - thoroughly recommended for a very relaxing and refreshing experience but don't book it through your holiday company; a lot of the hotels have their own or there are travel agents in the resorts that sell them much cheaper (and they are all governed by the local tourism council!)
