I had no problems eating in Albufeira at all. Most restaurants have huge grills to do meat and fish on and nearly everyone spoke English (take your translation card just incase) The only problem I had was on a day cruise when the BBQ pork looked as if it had been brushed with a sauce and the crew did not know what the ingredients were. I stuck to the salad and sardines and was fine. …
We had a lovely piri piri chicken meal at Pampas in the Old Town and Annabels on the strip are very good - English lady who provides fantastic meals. We even had Indian meals there and I did not have any reactions at all.

….If you eat in places frequented by locals you will have no bother. Plain fish and meat dishes are the norm in the Algarve and in four years of going I've never had any problem. I always take the translation card to be safe.
