GF board
My daughter used to stay in Watertown near Boston and she used to just take me to the Wholefoods Market in the car. I think it was at 181 Cambridge Street or there is also one in Newton - Walnut Street. If you look it up on Google, you'll find more of them in Boston.
There's also a Trader Joe in Boston but i can't remember the name of the street - it's near the Prudential Centre. There's a leaflet kept at the door with all gf stuff in the store printed on it. It'll be on Google too. It's not as good as Wholefoods but you might find different things there.
The health food shop with the room dedicated to GF foods was in Stoneham, which I think is north of Boston. It's called "Natural Food Exchange" - well worth a visit if you can find it.
The best eatery I found was PF Chang (if you like chinese food) - they have a separate menu for GF dishes. I ate there fairly often and had no trouble at all.
Outback Steakhouse is good too - they understand all about gluten free and the waiters take a lot of trouble over your orders.
And there is the usual McDonalds of course - I didn't ever have trouble there either. I just ordered only fries there but they also have gf hash browns, bacon and beef patty etc.
Chick-fil-A do nice waffle potato fries and you can also get chargrilled chicken fillet and hash browns there.
Wendy's do baked potato and chilli - I had that once and it was fine, though I wasn't that sure about contamination, you gotta eat something...
Subway and Pret a Manger both do salads - ask for no dressing or croutons. Pret a manger also had soup and fresh fruit salad.
Most of these are just quick bite places - good for lunch but I liked PF Changs best for an evening meal. Go early or you will have a long wait for a table!
