successful eating out experiences

GF board
Just thought I'd report on our recent successful experiences of eating out. This was the first trip away of more than a couple of days since my husband's diagnosis that wasn't self catering or staying with relatives. I think he expected the worst but said he had no being glutened symptoms during the entire trip.
We ate at TGI Fridays and La Tasca in Harrogate.
Westfield Fisheries near Leeds, The Bluebell Inn, Tissington (GF choices marked on menu and very reasonably priced), The Okeover Arms in Mappleton.
The best places were The Spotted Cow in Holbrook and The Burnt Gate in Anslow (near Burton on Trent) The Burnt Gate had a seperate gluten free menu and served GF bread - they also catered well for GF vegetarians. Service was very friendly.
The Spotted Cow in Holbrook is a carvery but they also have an a la carte menu. Nothing is specifically marked as gluten free - except the gravy but they did say they could try to do anything GF. My husband opted for the fillet steak and they prepared a GF pepper sauce specially - he said it was the best pepper sauce he has had. Also the chips are not normally GF but they prepared his seperately - which meant a bit of a wait but he said it was well worth it.
All of these places are mentioned either on the supp board already or on the CUK website. Thanks to everyone who has posted this information - it made eating out so much easier.
