From ricmc... on UK Coeliac : Birmingham gluten free I would definitely recommend splashing out a bit and eating at Le Petit Blanc. It is a chain and the one here in Manchester is superb with Coeliac. All branches, including Birmingham, have a separate Gluten Free menu and the food is fantastic (Two AA rosettes). It is pricey, but like you say you never eat out and it is definitely worth paying to ensure you health is protected. On arrival, introduce yourself to the restaurant manager and waitress. I would take a letter (maybe download the one from the official site), and double stress contamination issues to the waitress. Then relax and enjoy your meal (but never be afraid to question something). If only everywhere was like this chain! For more info on the Birmingham branch go to www.lepetitblanc.co.uk/birmingham/ The website doesn't expressly mention gluten free, but give them a call in advance and explain you will be requiring the menu. I know from telephoning the Birmingham branch in the past they do have a GF menu.
