EATING OUT Posted by Carolyn (Somerset) on 11/4/2005 GF board .., just recently, I visited one of the many local National Trust properties near me, Stourhead, and discovered delicious GF/WF cakes from www.honeybuns.co.uk - delicious and very 'naughty'!! I've written to the NT to see if they'd also offer bread (to go with soup/ploughman's etc.) and will be getting a full response but: "The National Trust's restaurants, cafes and tea-rooms will be catering for visitors who have special dietary needs. Catering teams have been developing their skills in providing dishes for people with a range of needs - from coeliac disease and wheat intolerance, to vegetarians, those with a lactose intolerance or a nut allergy. Guidelines have now been issued to all the Trust's 150 catering outlets along with recipes for dishes which are suitable for special diets such as pumpkin soup, which is thickened with vegetables, not flour."
