Centre Parcs Nottingham GF Food

GF board
I just have to say that we had a good experience at Centre Parcs. All the places we ate at had a good knowledge of gluten free diet and knew what we meant. Nothing was too much trouble. The waitress went off to check with the chef and they adapted the food for the twins. In the Italian place they had GF pasta and I asked for bolognaise sauce, but the waitress said that it could be cross contaminated and therefore the chef would do something different. They did pasta spirals with chicken in a tomato sauce and the twins liked it. However they did a small child's sized portion with was a bit small for the twins though we could have asked for a larger portion. In the Sportsman's bar we asked what they did GF and they said they could do almost anything we asked. We asked about the fries as the twins get sick of baked potatoes and they said that it would be fine and they would use new oil to fry them. They also this a fried chicken breast with salad for the twins.
When we went back a couple of days later to the same place they said again that they would use new oil to cook the fries and because they were a little late in bringing the meal they came and apologized and bought up a free round of drinks! I hadn't even noticed the meal delay because the twins were playing pool and hadn't given any thought to their meal. I was pleased that everyone knew what we were talking about. No strange looks etc. When the twins asked for ice cream they actually bought out the catering pack to show us and they couldn't see anything that would be a problem but wanted us to check.
I believe they would also do GF pancakes in the Pancake place but we didnt have time to go there to. We still took quite a lot of food with us though.
It was a much better experience that the last time we when. Though we are absolutely worn out because the diabetes management was quite difficult with the extra exercise and having to take off the insulin pump for swimming
