Gf fish and chips in Northern Ireland Posted by davidmcon 26/9/2005 I sadly didn't make it to the Land's End Chippie on my recent visit to Scotland but things are looking up with a cafe in Derry, owned by a coeliac, offering battered fish and chips as well as chicken goujons and vegetarian quiche. Happy days. It may be over 30 miles away but it is good to know it is available when on a visit to the city. An added bonus is the petrol at less than 80p a litre just over the nearby border in Donegal. The saving pays for the meal. I really missed battered fish and chips. Derry is a good place to eat for coeliacs even though it is really more like a town than a city with just over 100k population. ...Cafe Nervosa, 5-7 Magazine Street -right in the centre. The cafe is of the no frills variety but who cares if you can get battered fish? At least you can sit down to eat unlike most chippies. cafenervosaderry.co.uk/

Fitzroys Bistro In Derry, located on Bridge St right outside the back exit on the top floor of Foyleside shopping centre offers an extensive gluten free menu. They are well informed and reliable at providing GF food for customers. The meals are good quality and always well cooked. Lots to choose from for us and good value too with nice helpful staff. Some very good regular discounts too eg 30% off. Any queries just ask the lovely lady with the deep crimson hair and she will reassure you on anything you want to know. www.fitzroysrestaurant.com/

Roe park Resort in Limavady, offers excellent quality Gf food in both its casual bistro the Coach House and the main restaurant Greens. GF options are specified on the menus and the chefs will adapt any dish n the menus to Gf on request. They also keep Gf bread for us. Lovely environment and good service too. Only 15 miles from Derry and the same again from the Causeway Coast.
