GF sausages In NI resort
Posted by davidmc on GF board
Spoke to a butcher(Osbornes)today in Portstewart, a pretty holiday resort on the north coast of NI. He told me that he gets a supply of bread from the local health food shop to make up his GF sausages as he has had a number of requests. They are good unlike mass manufactured ones. Not available immediately but on request. So if you are here on holiday and want to BBQ sausages you have only to ask Peter. Others are available frozen from Mc Atamneys butchers in Coleraine nearby. Both are good butchers.

The Meat Centre The Promenade Portstewart (Osbornes) Mc Atamneys butchers - Abbey Street Coleraine Both in relatively small places so easily found. The first in Portstewart offers GF pork sausages and steakburgers(available frozen), both indistinguishable from non GF(taste great too) and they plan to offer more fresh GF food for the summer period.

The Ice House restaurant Portstewart Promenade N Ireland Posted by davidmc on 5/3/2012 GF board This restaurant in the holiday town on the north coast is able to cater for coeliacs. I am reliably informed via one of the chefs that they use separate friers for coeliacs and even provide tobacco onions, thin potato flour coated onions cooked in the separate frier. Their sauces are all reductions with no flour. I am told that several coeliacs are regulars here. So if you are travelling up to the north coast this is another option for you. I hope to try it soon myself. There is no specific GF menu but staff will accommodate your needs if you ask. www.icehouseonline.co.uk/ **************************
