The Apple Tree Café sits within the Orchard and Plant Nursery at Afton Park. This is linked to the working garden to provide fruit, herbs and vegetables to support the kitchen. The produce grown is organic and includes some rare heritage vegetable varieties. The garden supports the kitchen as much as possible during the season and vegetables in the ground in the morning can be served at lunch time. The cafe also specialises in wheat & gluten free foods.

We spent a few days in Isle of Wight last week. Went to the Apple Tree Cafe most days. They are a great bunch, very helpful. I was a awkward person to feed, but they managed...I'm Coeliac, vegetarian and have a nut allergy.
A beautiful location, not far from Freshwater bay...it's walkable from the cafe if you're feeling fit!!

I forgot to mention the ice cream they make and sell on the Island...
You'll see Minghella ice cream sold everywhere and it is gluten free. They do wonderful flavours (see page 96 in the bible). I've never had a problem getting a tub and spoon instead of wafer even from the mobile kiosks.
I've just come back from there and we ate out 2 nights. The Snooty Fox in Brading had a very limited GF choice but the steak, chips and salad was lovely. The Cottage Restaurant in Shanklin was more expensive but lots more
