Dawyck Botanic Gardens - thumbs up

GF board
We dropped into Dawyck Botanic Gardens today for a coffee and saw a board advertising GF home baking. Brownies, cupcakes, 2 types of shortbread biscuits and something else - have to admit that I was overcome by excitement/gratitude! Naturally, I had to have a brownie in the interests of research. The GF items are in a seperate compartment and have their own tongs.
I am told that their lunches are very good but have no idea what is gluten free. They were too busy today for that conversation so I will have to go back - in the interests of research, of course.

I'd like to recommend the Best Western Kings Manor Hotel, 100 Milton Road East, Edinburgh (it's four miles from the centre of the city). Informed them I needed a GF diet, and they provided GF biscuits in my room to have with my coffee. At breakfast there were three different types of GF Breakfast Cereal (I chose Mesa Sunrise). For dinner there were several options marked as GF on the menu. The staff couldn't have been nicer or more informative. I had a great weekend.
