GF board

Went to my parents local chippy, thought I'd ask about their chips - being hopeful on the off-chance. The chips are made in a different fryer and people travel to buy GF chips from them.
The chips (and fish) was fresh and good - one for the directory I think. Don't know if they do anything else GF, didn't ask, sorry.

…I'd recommend Arisaig in the Merchant city, near to that Gandolfi Fish. Rogano's, off Buchanan street and Gamba on West Campbell St. Sartis has GF pasta.

Dhakin is amazing, I was there for lunch a couple of weeks ago. They have huge dosas (like a big pancake) made of rice flour. They are well aware of GF - like previous message says, everything apart from some desserts is GF.

Cranberry's is a good cafe, also in the Merchant City. Had the most amazing pavlova there

GF board

£40 menu for 2 persons x 3 courses plus a glass of wine each. This price menu is in Gamba (01415720899); the Dining room (01413326678) and Urban Brasserie (01412485636). Website for the 3 restaurants: www.glasgowsbestrestaurants.co.uk. At present if you dine in all 3 with the £40 menu you can then claim a 4th £40 meal at the restaurant of your choice for free! I'm a regular at Gamba's pre-theatre and they are very informed and most recently bought in really good g-free crackers for me and the cheese board. The Dining Room was new to me and they had g-free bread - a long life one they toasted. Urban B was also "new" and had a specified g-free menu with good desserts!
They all do pre-theatre too and I'd go back to them all though Gamba is still a favourite.

Other great choices which I've posted before are: Sartis for g-free pasta. I like the Renfield street one (01415727000). www.sarti.co.uk. Rogano's, pretheatre,(01412484055),www.roganoglasgow.com. Shandon Belles (01412218088), part of the Two Fat Ladies group who are all good: www.twofatladiesrestaurant.com.

Finally, a special mention for Arisaig, also in the Merchant City (01415531010) who's chef, Stephen, is really keen on providing G-free food and at no notice can whip up sweet potato fritters and fish'n'chips (rice flour) and his own g-free top-of-the-stove bread ! www.arisaigrestaurant.com.
