The Four Seasons Hotel, St Fillans, Perthshire

We've just come back from a weekend away, celebrating our 1st wedding anniversary.
We stayed at the Four Seasons Hotel in St Fillans, and I just wanted to say what a fantastic experience it was.
Apart from the wonderful scenery and excellent service at the hotel, the food was magnificent.
When we booked, we asked about GF food, and they said it was fine, as with priot notice they can accomodate most special diets. I had expected there to be GF meal for me each night, in a kind of "get what you're given" kind of way, but this was not the case.
What had happened what that the chef had ensured that at least 5 choice of 8 for each course were GF, and most of the others could be changed to accomodate me - which meant I felt normal!
The food really was wonderful - and with 4 courses for dinner and 4 for breakfast, there was plenty of it!
There were some things that couldn't be changed - so instead of the normal canapes, they made special ones for me, and instead of the butternut squash soup, I was offered orange, apple or coconut sorbet.
There were plenty of choices for pudding too - which I found unusual. There were home-made ice creams and sorbets, poached pears with balsamic ripple ice cream, and a wonderful bitter chocolate truffle with pineapple compote.
Breakfasts were wonderful too - a choice of cereals (some were GF) and homemade breads (for the non coeliacs), fresh fruit salads, porridge (if you can tolerate oats) and choices of hot breakfasts - full scottish (they played around with it to make it GF for me) kedgerree (sp?) and scrambled eggs with smoked salmon.
If ever you are looking for somewhere to stay in Scotland, then I can highly recommend this place
