After going without fish & chips for over 3 years we have just discovered that a chip shop 5 minutes from home do gluten free fish & chips. I have just indulged in some and they were gorgeous. I can't believe my luck!!!! Apparently he has about 25 Coeliac customers a week. Anyone wanting to try it out, it's 'XL Fisheries, Bawtry Road, Wickersley, Rotherham'.
When you go in you have to ask them to cook the fish in rice flour. The chips are always cooked on their own and the fish is then put in with them so it doesn't get contaminated

I can highly recommend Chans Chinese Cuisine, The Tanyard, Wickersley, Rotherham, South Yorkshire. I visit regularly and have never had a problem getting a gluten free meal. I usually stick to plain meals like chicken with beansprouts or crispy duck without the pancakes (just some examples) and always stick to boiled rice but Mr Chan always advises me about the menu and also informs the chef that I need my meal to be gluten free.
