Recommendations near Swanage Posted by Sally (London) on 7/8/2012 Went to Swanage at the weekend and would really recommend the Black Swan www.blackswanswanage.co.uk/ They went through the menu discussing our options and understood the issues of cc etc. We settled on fish and chips which was delicious. .... We also went to the Blue Pool www.bluepooltearooms.co.uk/the-pool which has tearooms that have gf options. My daughter was thrilled with her cheese toastie and white chocolate shortbread

Swanage is great for gluten free Posted by Pam, Dorset on 29/3/2014
Gf board
We' be just been to Swanage to enjoy the nice weather. Started at Brook tea shop in the town for coffee and gf cake. Then walked up to Dulston Country Park and had lunch in the Seventh Wave restaurant which was brilliant - much of the menu was clearly marked gf and included dishes like sausages and mash, fish and chips as well as slightly more upmarket things and fresh fish specials. I had the burger which was a proper home made steak one, topped with cheese and served in 2 DS ciabatta rolls which were warm, ( one would have been plenty even though it was a big burger !)and chips. Really impressed as there were lovely gf cakes available too. We walked back to Swanage and I checked menus at several cafés all of which mentioned gf bread or cakes being available. Honestly there must have been 6 that I noticed and we didn't look at all of the cafés, at least one other I know does gf. So, come to Dorset for your holidays and visit Swanage for more gf treats than even a greedy coeliac can manage! I will check out some of the other cafés next time I go.
