by Grete » Fri Sep 10, 2010 5:56 pm Last weekend we visited the magnificent cathedral in Ely, Cambridgeshire. In the evening we had supper at The Cutter Inn where they have a gluten-free menu. The Cutter Inn is situated next to the river, a couple of minutes walk from the Jubilee Gardens. www.thecutterinn.co.uk/Although we did not have time to stop for tea, Peacocks Tearoom is also by the riverside in Ely and they always have gluten-free scones, fruit cake and bread. Next time we visit I’ll make sure we have time to pop in. www.peacockstearoom.co.uk/

The Boathouse, This great restaurant is in a superb spot on the banks of the River Great River Ouse. Very good understanding of gluten free diet, The Ely Cathedral is a wonderful building and is known locally as ‘The ship of the Fens’ a name which, if not local, will be understood when approaching Ely. I have eaten here several times. www.theboathouseely.co.uk/
