Padua/Padova, Italy - restaurant and hotel (Please save to Supp Board) Posted by Sue L, Kent on 18/4/2016, 16:39:32 Just returned from Padova. Stayed in the Best Western Hotel Admiral. They did pretty good breakfasts and had selection of GF products. Also had DF milk and cooked fried eggs specially for me, instead of the scrambled which weren't ok. www.hoteladmiral.it/en/home-page.aspx There was a restaurant just down the road called Al Cancelletto. They adapted everything they could to give us a great meal. No substitute GF products or DF products in sight, except for GF pasta. Just wonderfully good food! We had amazing polenta with cold meats. Fish(depends on what has been caught that day), veggie dishes, rabbit, and other meats available. The vegetable side dishes were beautifully cooked too. Family run. They speak English though we had our daughter, who is fluent in Italian, with us. They explained the provenance of all their food and also provided small tasters of some of their dishes for free. Good wine list too! Always book a table Mon- Thurs as these are their busiest days. Closed Sunday. www.alcancelletto.it/default.html Both hotel and restaurant are on the Venice side of town and a little out of the centre of Padova.
