Here's the reply I got from a food bank about GF food.
'We always check people’s dietary requirements when they are referred to Foodbank and have had a couple of coeliac clients in the past. We try to ensure that people get food they can eat and are not given anything they are allergic or intolerant to. Although we do not receive a lot of specifically gluten free food we do try to be as accommodating as possible with any dietary requirements.
If we were given gluten free food but did not have any coeliac clients before it started approaching its sell by date we would put it in our extras box and allow people to help themselves to it so nothing would be wasted.'
