Ibiza September 2014
The first gf item I saw in Ibiza was a towering pile of Ambar, the gf beer, at €.82 per bottle! in a Lidl supermarket on the outskirts of San Antonio.
Generally gf awareness in restaurants was excellent. Every waiter I spoke to understood about gluten and some were very knowledgeable. There was always good food every time I ate out.
Two bars we went to served gf beer, one Estrella Daura, the other Ambar.
Corn thins were readily available in supermarkets.
One restaurant supplied an envelope of gf bread.
I’d recommend Ibiza for anyone with coeliac disease. It’s much easier to eat out there than in the UK. I did take muesli with me so am not sure about breakfasts but given the Spanish awareness of CD I’m pretty sure finding gf cereal in a supermarket wouldn’t be difficult.
10/10 for ease of shopping and eating gf.

GF board
There's very good GF awareness in Spain and Ibiza. Eating out is fine - all the waiting staff understand about gluten and are knowledgeable about ingredients.
I must admit to taking muesli and bread with me, though there was a good choice of naturally GF crackers in the supermarkets. I didn't look for, or notice any bread. (Incidentally some restaurants had sealed, re-heatable GF bread.) Not sure about cereals as I don't eat them.
GF beer was available very cheaply in the supermarkets, and some restaurants had it too.
Spain's a doddle for GF. Have fun!
