GF board
Breakfasts in Turkey may typically include:
+frittata type omlettes with meat, sweet peppers, tomatoes etc.
+selection of cheeses
+selection of olives
+fresh fruits
+other style eggs
+milky coffee, tea, fresh coffee
+selection of breads (these would not be suitable for your daughter)
+jams, honey
+yogurt
+stuffed vine leaves
Lunch:
After such a substantial breakfast, lunch can be light and may include:
+grilled fish with salad
+Dolmas/stuffed (with rice, some currants, mint, fresh coriander and dill) and baked vegetables and tomatoes (aubergines, courgettes, tomatoes, peppers etc)
+Fresh fruits
+Cheeses
Dinner:
+meze (large selection - just avoid any borek/pastry items). Hoummous, Babaganoush, Vine Leaves, different beans cooked in many different ways, mushrooms etc.
+rice
+grilled meats
+meats in a sauce
+grilled vegetables
+stuffed vegetables
+vegetable timbales (e.g. made with aubergine)
+grilled fish
+Salads
+fish in sauce etc.
+Cheeses
+Fresh Fruits
avoid baklava, breads and other pastries.
Note: sauces usually thickened by reduction and not by thickening with flour!
It might be an idea to take some tin foil and/or foil baking 'tins', so that when you visit a restaurant you can ask them to cook your daughter's meats/fish etc in these on their griddles, rather than putting the meat/fish straight onto the griddle as the griddle is also used to heat pita breads.
Don't forget the suncream and have a great holiday!
