G/f eating out in Western Canada Posted by Helen on 4/9/2013
GF board
Just returned from an amazing 'once in a lifetime' trip to Vancouver, then hiring a motorhome to travel through he Rockies and into Calgary. Got in touch with the 'Celiac Scene' (Canadian website) before we left, travelling with 9year old coeliac daughter. Everywhere we went everyone was utterly accommodating - interestingly often asking if we wanted g/f due to allergy (rather than simply a diet choice). Bellagio's in Vancouver did g/f pasta and Double Zero in Calgary did 'the best pizza I've ever had Mummy!' We found g/f bread, wraps & sausages and even ready meals in the most unlikely stores, at gas stations and at Calgary Zoo!! We were really impressed.

The Celiac Sceneā¢ guides you to celiac-endorsed restaurants across Canada and celiac-friendly fast food chains across North America. Safety is our #1 priority. Owned, operated and maintained by celiacs, our maps are updated daily based on feedback from Chapters of the Canadian Celiac Association. ... www.theceliacscene.com/
