The Chimneys Hooton (Ellesmere Port)

GF board
It was daughter's 18th birthday last week, and as part of the celebrations we went to the Chimneys in Hooton, which is a Vintage inn. Before I was diagnosed we used to go there a quite often, but this was the first time since. I went earlier in the week for a drink and to ask about the suitability of the menu and was very surprised when he brought out a gluten/wheat free menu from behind the bar. (there was also menus for other allergens)The staff seem quite knowledgeable and he informed that because they cook everything on site they could also adapt things if I fancied something that wasn't on the menu. The only disappointment was that on the menu the chips were stated as gf but he said that they had changed the chips and they weren't gf any more. There was quite a good choice for all three courses and I had a lovely meal. The service was excellent and they decorated the table with the balloons and banners I supplied and brought the cake out when asked and even sang Happy Birthday to my daughter. We will be going back again and even better is that the pub is just about walking distance so we can all have a drink with our dinner. There is no mention of the allergen menu on line.
