Pateley Bridge, North Yorkshire Posted by Audrey on 2/3/2013, 19:45:23 Passed through Pateley Bridge (a small country town set amid glorious scenery) today and stopped for tea. Had a tasty GF tuna mayonnaise sandwich made with delicious GF bread from the bakery opposite (bread available to order only), followed by GF carrot cake. The sandwich (open sandwich on three smallish slices of bread) had a lovely fresh salad garnish and was well worth £3.50. The cafe is called The Old Granary and it is in the main street. www.oldgranary.net/ The Old Granary Tea Shop, 17 High Street, Pateley Bridge, North Yorkshire. HG3 5AP Telephone: 01423 711852 The bakery is The Old Bakehouse, 8 High Street, Pateley Bridge, North Yorkshire. HG3 5AW Telephone: 01423 711189 Further up the street on the same side as The Old Granary Cafe, is Langton's Fine Foods (recently moved here from Ripon) which sells a good range of GF groceries and frozen pies etc. (I think they must be at no. 29 High Street.) Next door to Langton's is The Talbot House Hotel, 27 High Street, Pateley Bridge, North Yorkshire. HG3 5AL www.talbot-house.co.uk/ ‎which had a sign outside advertising its tea room with GF scones available. There is car parking close by, just off the High Street, near the river - 70p for 2 hours. PS, Forgot to mention that the service at The Old Granary was very good as well.
