Just returned from holiday in Puerto Pollensa in Majorca. Had no problems at all eating out and managed to have GF pasta and pizza too. There is also a Mercadona supermarket in Alcudia which is brilliant as usual as their labelling is very clear. I stayed at the Club del Sol hotel and did have an evening meal on one night. The staff were brilliant and the chef was able to tell me which dishes I could and couldn't have. All in all a very successful trip on the GF front. El Bistro, Paseo Saralegui 134 -on the main seafront road - did potato and courgette omelette which was lovely although a bit like a frittata. Also did jacket potatoes and a couple of GF desserts. Iru Restaurant, Paseo Anglada Camarassa 23 - on the main seafront pedestrianised area. All GF dished clearly marked and they give you a GF bread muffin too. Didn't think much of the paella but the chicken dishes were good. www.iru.com.esEolo Pizzeria, Placa Enginyer G Roca 2 - GF pasta available and fabulous salads. Wonderful Arrabiata sauce. Laroc Pizzeria, Av. Bocchoris 4 - GF pasta and pizzas. The pizzas were the best I've ever had and the choice was amazing. The pasta was fine too and there were also desserts available such as creme brulee and pannacotta. Well worth a visit. www.puertopollensa.com/laroc

Puerto Pollensa, Mallorca

GF board
Have just come back from 2 weeks in this resort.
If you are driving from the airport, stop at the huge Al Campo hypermarket about 5 mins up the motorway from Palma. They ahve a good gf section with tons of biccies, different breads including croissants and baguettes, corn flakes and some chocco cereal, cakes, flour etc.
The Eroski supermarket on the roundabout as you arrive at Puerto Pollensa has gf baguettes and rolls in the FREEZER.
IRU restaurant on the seafront has gf meals marked, though it's a bit pricey and aimed at adults. We have two Coeliac children so didn't eat there as they wouldn't do gf kids' meals at kids' prices. We did however eat at a restaurant on the seafront which was on the corner oppostie the DAINA hotel. They did plain fish and chicken with potatoes and veg for the kids, and we had a lovely lobster paella!
We also later found a pasta restaurant on the square which had gf pasta and ice-cream. ....

Puerto pollensa again Laroc and TorosPosted by Pete kates dad on 25/8/2013 GF board We have twice eaten in a traditional majorcan restaurant right opposite laroc restaurant. ......I showed them the translation card but the daughter of the owner barely needed it to read to understand. Been twice no problems and not glutened. They serve you bread and garlic mayo so we took a gf frozen baguette from eroski for them to refresh. We have also eaten in Tolos which is on our doorstep and kate had chicken skewers with chips. Again no problem. Haven't had starters anywhere as the prices are expensive but we make up by giving the kids ice creams. Ben and Jerry are minting it. This is a fantastic place for kids and families with cd.will update when we try somewhere elsr. *************************** Laroc www.puertopollensa.com/laroc/Toloswww.goalcudia.com/AdsInProgress/tolos/

Puerto pollensa again Posted by Pete kates dad on 27/8/2013, 22:01:37
Been to an amazing restaurant tonight called stay. They have a website.
I spoke to a waiter a few days ago who went duly to the owner who spoke impeccable English. They have gf bread and can adapt the menu. Its heavily fish orientated thus Kate had salmon fillets. It ain't cheap but is high end. Kates choice had to be from the adults menu as she didn't want chicken. Berf burger or kid's steak but I cant complain as it was dad's treat tonight. Its so much easier eating here than home. We have zn eroski supermarket round the corner and a lot if stuff is kabrlled sin or sense gluten. Great family holiday for any child coeliac or mam or dad wanting a family holiday. Anybody wanting more info just email me. Peter.morgan71@googlemail.com
