Gluten Free Menu - Hospital Food

My daughter was admitted to the Leicester Royal Infirmary last week with a very nasty bug which resulted in her blood sugars being 1.9 and bringing up blood.
A gluten free menu was brought up to her which my husband ordered from. He ordered Heinz tomato soup, jacket potato and tuna and baked beans, gluten free bread and butter. He asked if they were Heinz and was told would check. (On the tea time menu it stated Heinz baked beans, but just baked beans on the lunch one). Also on the menu that day was an afternoon snack of a Milky Way chocolate bar. He told the staff that this wasn't gluten free and they were surprised.
Anyway, I arrived at hospital in time for lunch being served. She was served first. I asked if the beans were Heinz and they said that they weren't sure but had checked with the dietician and said that the menu had been ok'd. I said that there was already an error on the menu with the Milky Way and I didn't trust that the beans were Heinz. They had also forgotten to bring up her bread and butter. Thankfully my daughter was asleep and everything went cold before she woke up. I had gone prepared with sandwiches, yoghurts etc for her which she had instead.
My daughter had been so poorly that the last thing she needed was to be glutened !
I did email the dietician who was alarmed as many coeliacs would be eating from this menu and was going to raise it at the next meeting and also had forwarded my email to the Facilities Manager to respond to me. I did make a suggestion that the menus should be consistent with the wording and should state Heinz baked beans on each menu and perhaps a breakdown of the ingredients under each choice offered to reassure patients that the food was 100% gluten free.
