Got back from Boston about a week ago, where I ate really well and not one glutening
We spent a few days in Cape Cod too, so there are some places from that area.
Overall every single place execpt one (some coffee shop, meh) was so helpful and didn't at all make me feel like a fussy eater and often the manager would come over to speak to me which was so reassuring. It was great! (now just to lose the extra pounds...!)
Boston
PF Chang's – chinese chain, has GF menu, really nice food had desserts too, although I didn't have room for that!
Stephanie's (on Newbury street) – Bistro. Salads, burgers etc. Waitress checked everything with the manager, was really helpful.
Legal Seafood (chain, esp. Boston area I think?)– have a GF menu, which is extensive also have a GF beer. Manager came over and I hadn't even asked for that, very reassuring
UNO Bar & Grille – chain, GF menu, GF beer – burgers etc, ok not revolutionary but again staff were very helpful and on the ball.
Vlora (Boylston street, Copley sq., down steps)– Mediterranean food, has a GF menu, huuuuge portions
Border cafe (Church street, near Harvard Square) – Mexican HUGE portions, again manager came over, totally knew their stuff and made me feel welcome as well as the food being delicious I mean it about the portions...I think they must have a thing that if anyone empties their plate it can't possibly be enough?! Crazy. But also CHEAP!
Supermarkets etc - Shaw's was great, the one just by Prudential Mall has a lot of GF things, a lot of them frozen, things like pizzas and doughnuts....had my first doughnut in about 8 years!! Also good range of GF beers....maybe 5-6 varieties.
The Wine Emporium – Tremont street – again, wide variety of GF beers.
It seemed in general a lot of bars carry a GF beer, I only went to one Samuel Adams bar, but they happened to have Estrella Daura, I don't know if that is across the whole chain.
Ben&Jerry's – all over, ask for allergen's sheet and for them to use a clean scooper thing.
Cape Cod
Brewster
Guapo's Shore Shack – Mexican, GF menu on the wall. Nice food, a bit pricey for what it is (very casual, shack chic?!) & portions are not American sizes perfect for lunch though.
Provincetown
The Lobster Pot – has GF menu, we did have a false start though as something was sent with a bread roll right on the plate........doh! But waitress could not have been more apologetic/helpful and we did get a free bottle of wine, not directly for that mistake/delay but I'm sure it had something to do with it!
Frappo66 – has GF bread, managed to make me a GF breakfast.
*Deep breath*...I think that is everything...!!!
